Il Poggetto is a small family-run farm located in Panicale, a small village overlooking Lake Trasimeno. Life at the farm passes harmoniously fully respecting nature.
The vegetable garden gives us every year a small production of the highly prized Saffron, famous in Umbria since ancient times. Used once for coloring fabrics, it is now used to flavor dishes from the Umbrian culinary tradition.
Hens and turtles cheer up our garden.
The vineyard allows us to produce an excellent igt red wine wile olive oil is the product that characterizes the company.

Thucydides wrote in the fifth century "The peoples of the Mediterranean began to emerge from barbarism when they learned to cultivate olive tree and vine".


The general trend in Umbria over the past three decades is to produce high quality extra virgin olive oils. Umbria reaches around 2-3% of the entire Italian production, a small but very esteemed volume. Unlike other oils such as corn or sunflower, extra virgin oil is obtained only from the pressing of olives, it is the only oil that comes from a fresh fruit.

Our extra virgin olive oil is produced only with our olives grown respecting environment. The quality of the finished product is garanteed at every stage of the production, thanks to the integrated production system of which we are part and innovations in the sector. The olive harvest takes place between October and November depending on the ripening of the fruit.
The olives are harvested in advance to ensure the highest product quality, also thanks to systems that intercept the olives without ever making them touch the ground.
The milling takes place within 24 hours from harvesting strictly cold and only by mechanical means, to obtain a tasty oil with minimum levels of acidity and a high content of polyphenols.
